In 1996 Tidy Thames Refuse Services received a special
mention at the prestigous Queen Mother's Birthday Awards.
The award was in recognition of the company's efforts in
keeping the River Thames litter free. An article from the Water

The 'Livett' family have owned and operated companies on the
river since 1710. In 2000 Mr. Chris Livett was recognised for
his achievement and given the royal appoinment of watermen
to her majesty the Queen.
